Dirt Weekend 2013

Last November 15-17, 2013 was another weekend of dirt, mountain bikes and over 2,000 fearless riders invaded lush green trails of NUVALI. For three days, Dirt Weekend 2013 became the playground of some of the top mountain bike riders from all over the country and some parts of the world. 

For five years in a row, the Nuvali Dirt Weekend became an iconic event among mountain bike enthusiasts, not just here in the Metro Manila but also in other parts of the country. Participants n this year’s Dirt Weekend came all the way from as far as Pangasinan in the North and as far as Cebu and Cagayan de Oro in the South. 

What makes Dirt Weekend 2013 even more special was the hosting of the first ever Union Cyclist International - UCI National Mountain Bike Championship. So, the events and race standards of Dirt Weekend was definitely at par with the international standards and very much the same with the ones a rider can experience in the international biking competition in other countries. 

Another highlights of the race were the events. These are the Cross-Country race, Down-hill competition, Four-cross race, the 24 hours mountain bike race, the Duathlon race and for the first time, Dirt Weekend 2013 opened a category for folding bikes enthusiasts. They also organized biking competition for kids who were mostly children of the adult riders. 

On the second day of the competition, riders and guests were treated by an afternoon concert from some of the countries sought after talents like Dakila Artists, Bayang Barios and Noel Cabangon. The event also have extended its support to the people affected by the recent calamity brought about by the super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) by donating a portion of the proceeds of the event. 

Over the years, Nuvali have established a reputation as an ideal venue to hold outdoor sports such as running events, wake-boarding, bird-watching, trail running and of course Mountain biking were many biking enthusiasts from all over would go to visit Nuvali just to experienced what the place and the lush green environment has to offer.
