National Geographic Channel: Earth Day Run 2016 Takes Environmental Race to Five Countries!

The month of April is just around the corner and that is where summer really starts. As many people are packing for the next summer get-a-away, the running community is preparing for one of the most epic Marathons that will happen this April. What am I talking about? Of course the Nat Geo Run 2016! Happening on April 17, 2016 at the BGC, Taguig City.

For the first time, NatGeo will happen in five cities across the region...
Of course, this event is in celebration of the National Geographic Channel advocacy on fitness and caring for the environment. Dubbed as Earth Day Run 2016, this running event will be unique among previous NatGeo Runs because for the first time, it will happen simultaneously in five cities across the region namely, Singapore, Hong kong, Shanghai, Tai Chung and Manila.

On line registration is from March 1-31, 2016...
The run is for the benefit of World Wild Fund (WWF) in protecting our planet Earth and the environment. Through the support of the registration, runners will get to choose to support one out of four environmental programs which are Climate change solution, Endangered species protection, Watershed Management and Food security for World Wild Fund for Nature. These programs are the main thrust of the organization and in the event, it will allow runners to be involved in any one of the programs.

Mr. Gregg Yan, Executive Director of WWF...
This year, Nat Geo and WWF are expecting more than 20,000 runners in the Philippines alone. Since it will coincide with other cities in Asia, this event will hope to gain hundred thousands more in supporting their cause. For the Philippines leg, the course will be held at the Bonifacio Global City and Mckinley West. For the first time, the organizers of the run will make the starting line at BGC and will finish at Mckinley West

Mr. Jude Torquato, CEO of NGC and FOX Int'l Philippines...
This course design is quite unique from the previous Nat Geo Runs because the capacity of BGC is only limited to 10,000 to 12,000 runners. More than that, it will create major traffic flow problems of runners. However, the Starting /Finish line in two locations may solve the traffic flow problem. Another issue that may rise up is the course of the 42k which is the same loop as the 21k’s, but will run it twice. For many seasoned marathoners, doing two loops of the same course is not too exciting.

The Nat Geo Run 2016 Team is all set in protecting the environment...
Nonetheless, my wife, my son and I are all gearing up to this event and we are very excited to run in our third NatGeo.

Blue Steel by TW STEEL

Recently, TW STEEL, the leading brand in big watches, launched another set of collection of time pieces which will best fit people who love fashion and style - the Blue Steel Canteen collection. Consequently, the launch was celebrated by the premier showing of Zoolander No. 2, the sequel of previous movie of the same title starring Ben Stiller as the dim-witted but good-natured Derek Zoolander himself.

The launch was held at the Shangri la mall in Mandaluyong City. The event was graced by the executives of TW STEEL and of course some famous personalities in the world of Philippine fashion. Part of the gala is a fashion contest that challenged the invited guests to wear Zoolander inspired get-up and whoever has the most iconic Zoolander look wins a TW STEEL watch.

Along with the invited guests are of course the fashion blogging community together with some friends in the quad media. As we all waited for the doors to open, guests were treated to enjoy some delightful cocktails as people socialized and take pictures of their outfit. Organizers created a facade where guests can take a picture of themselves making a cat walk parade poses under a red carpet.

All guests were also given a pair of iconic Zoolander fashion eye wear together with some movie snacks to munch on while we enjoy watching. The movie was very fitting because the Blue Steel Canteen collection coincided with the famous “Blue Steel” fashion look of Zoolander.

The movie was obviously very hilarious, especially for those who saw the previous one that was shown almost ten years ago. I applauded Mr. Ben Stiller as a very versatile actor and very adaptive to whichever role he morphed into. In this movie, the lead character plays a washed-up fashion icon who went incognito after the tragic death of his wife. After a while, after some revelations and soul searching he then reckoned back to himself and into the game of fashion and eventually saved the whole world from a fashion disaster rigged by sinister villain Mongatu played by Will Farell. Acting as his side kick is Hansel, played by the equally very talented Owen Wilson.

In the movie, it describe male fashion models to be as na├»ve dumb and shallow individuals. Stiller played the part so well that it was so hilarious and funny. But the much even funnier scene was when I noticed that some of the people around us were a bit silent and non-reactive on some scenes which was supposed to be funny. It seemed that they’re not getting the comical punch lines along the way. And then I realized, ah...okay, that explains it. :)

The Blue Steel Canteen collection are now available in all TW STEEL Boutiques (Century Mall. Podium, Shangri La Plaza, SM Aura, SM Makati, SM Megamall, and SM North Edsa), Swissgear, Wristpod, Le Temps Newport Mall, and Adora Greenbelt 5.

Yilinker. A new symbol of online shopping convenience
However, as much as these online shopping malls can be very convenient, some are now receiving numerous complaints with regards to quality of services and the quality of the product itself. Speaking form a personal experience, my wife decided to by an electric can opener via Lazada. The product looks very promising and it was not that expensive either.

The electric can opener we bought from LAZADA
Personally, I don’t approved buying it and suggested to buy the manual type. But since it was December and opening cans would be more frequent during the Christmas season, I agreed of buying one. During the first few occasions, the product was working well, but after a month of use, that’s where we noticed its defects. is the newest emerging e-commerce that affiliates reputable brands and guarantees quality service delivery to their end user. Furthermore, aims to innovate and reinvent the e-commerce industry in the Philippines by offering the most progressive products and services that will suit the changing lifestyle of its customers, facilitate a one-of-a-kind selling opportunity for our partners, and give everyone the chance to earn more income via our affiliate program.
