My former boss (who is now a congressman in Surigao) told me years ago that a Casio digital watch could give more functionality in a timepiece than a Rolex. However, many watch lovers still prefer to buy the more expensive luxury watches because of their elegance and stature. These watches are quite expensive not because of their chronographic functions but for their ability to tell more about the owner who wears it. It’s jewelry that tells time.
So, if you’re planning to get a luxury watch, make sure that it would be very visible for people to take notice of it. And what could be more visible than the leader in oversized watches, which is The Watch, made of Steel – TW Steel. Yup, that’s what TW stands for.
My first encounter with TW Steel was back in 2012 where, David Coulthard, TW Steel brand ambassador and famous grand prix racecar driver visited the Philippines to open the new branch of TW Steel in Podium. That was where I got my TW Steel white cap.
Just recently, TW Steel celebrated their 10th Year Anniversary with new set of canteen watch models. The event was held at the Glass House in New World Hotel. TW Steel executives, brand ambassadors, members of the media, and the blogging community attended the intimate celebration.
The highlight of the event was the unveiling of two limited edition watches. The first one is the APEX Canteen which, according the host of the event, only 200 units were made and 15 pieces only are allotted for the Philippines. But the most exceptional one is a diamond studded TWAC - 10 with a 4.66 karat grade. In addition for being Swiss Made, it has sapphire crystals and houses an ETA 7750 Valjoux Chronograph Automatic Movement for added accuracy. This one is the only one of its kind and it’s not for sale.

About TW Steel:
TW Steel started out in the Netherlands in 2005 and was founded by the father and son duo Ton and Jordy Cobelens. A simple conversation in 2005 on the popularity of oversized watches was all the catalyst for Ton Cobelens to take a bold step into action. Seizing the opportunity, he designed and produced the first ever collection from his house. Thus, the Iconic TW01, TW02, TW03 and TW04 were born and so began the epic TW Steel story.
