Who would want to live in Cavite?
A little over 15 years ago, I used to roam the vast province of Cavite when I was still working in the pharmaceutical industry. At the time, road networks were very few and narrow and the only main highways, which all vehicles are using are the crowded Aguinaldo Highway and Governor’s Drive and it took me a while to cover all of my clients because of the worsening traffic situations. Getting in and out of the province was a very laborious travel and back then, I've always said that Cavite is one place I wouldn’t want to live in.

It’s been a while since I last visited Cavite and I noticed a lot has changed, most especially the roads and alternative routes to get from one town to another. With the new highways that were made, particularly the CAVITEX, the Daang Hari and the MCTex, there are now plenty and faster ways to get to and around Cavite. With these improvements, my outlook on how I see Cavite has begun to change, too.
Recently, Ayala Land seems to also see the potential of Cavite in becoming a highly mixed-use of nature-urban development, much like another “NUVALI” in this part of South. The latest development of Ayala will be called the VERMOSA, a 700 hectare master planned estate which offers modern suburban community where daily life becomes more dynamic for health enthusiasts.

Last week, Ayala Land organized a media launch that featured a two-day event highlighting some of the outdoor active elements which VERMOSA will be known for. The event was headlined by trial-bikes exhibition group – Drop and Roll, which showcased a jaw-dropping bike-stunt show led by the world-renowned mountain biker Danny MacAskill who became famous for his out-of-this world Youtube bike-stunt shots that garnered 60 million hits.

Drop and Roll was organized by MacAskill due to the prompting of the biking community to watch him do the stunts in live performances. Together with Danny are three other trial-bike champions such as Duncan Shaw, Ali C., and the current Mountain Bike World Champion Fabio Wibmer. The trial-bike demo show attracted hundreds of biking enthusiasts from all over Metro Manila and other parts of the regions as well.

VERMOSA indeed offers a distinct suburban living in the south. Apart from its modern stylish residential houses, it features a multi-sports complex that is at par to international standards such as the 400 meter track oval, an Olympic standard size swimming pool, a sports science laboratory, a motocross track and a bike skill-trail. These amenities are just some features that every athlete of any discipline will consider it as a sports-haven and will love to train on.

VERMOSA also impresses a complete community where commercial establishments and business will also thrive. Initially, the De La Salle Santiago Zobel School will soon be erected in the area, featuring a state-of-the-art learning facility that embodies the DLSZ vision which provides world-class learner-centered environment which produces individuals to become life-long well-rounded members of society who are reflective, creative, critical thinkers, and problem solvers.

This Ayala Land development is a masterpiece in the making. It will soon be a landmark in the map of Cavite that will entail progress in the quality of living for every Filipino. Aptly, Active Revolution is the theme of VERMOSA, where everyone is invited to Step out…Step up…and be Active!
