Dell E-lab supports Children's Joy Foundation


Dell Philippines, the leader in innovative technology and services continues its mission in bringing technology to the very least of individuals who cannot afford to access the knowledge on the latest information technology. They provide grant funding and services to the students of Children’s Joy Foundation, a half way facility that houses neglected, abandoned and surrendered children. 



The foundation provides support to undeserved children through educational assistance by sending them to school and providing all their school needs. On top of these benefits, they also provide computer literacy program that is being offered in the center, through the generous contribution of Dell Philippines. 



Last September 19, 2013, Dell announced the launching of the Dell E-lab installed at the Foundation’s center in Quezon City. It is composed of Dell desk-top computer equipped with internet access and basic software where students can learn to do research using the power of the computer. Dell even extends its generosity by providing literacy services where Dell employees volunteer their hours on a tutorial one-on-one classes with the children.



“The Children’s Joy Foundation would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dell Philippines for choosing us to be a recipient of the Dell Powering the Possible grant. It allowed us to set up two computer laboratories that will benefit 1,210 children and youth in Metro Manila and Davao City. The program can provide them with computer skills that would help them find a job in the future” Shares Ms. Rose Dimagnaong, Executive Director – Children’s Joy Foundation.



Soon after, Mr. Richard Teo, President of Dell Philippines also expresses his eagerness of support to the foundation. “We are proud to partner with Children’s joy Foundation to support its effort to empower youth through computer literacy. This program will focus on providing opportunities to youth in marginalized communities who have the eagerness, interest and aptitude by are limited by circumstances and resources to fulfill their passion. We have set up a few computer lab at CJFI in the Philippines and the Quezon City is just one them. We expect to bring of the program to even more children overtime. Our strategic Dell giving program targets foundations focused on youth learning Children with Cancer, disaster relief and social entrepreneurship. Dell contributes one percent of its after tax profit to non-profit organizations doing work in the communities where our employees live and work.” 



Dell continues to fulfill its missions through its corporate social responsibility by helping groups and underprivileged individuals by building their capacity to do more. Earlier this year Dell also awarded a grant to Child Hope Asia Philippines through the “Empowering the Possible” Program.
