Papa John’s : The only better ingredients for better pizza

Other than the best quality ingredients that comprise Papa John’s Pizza, what really makes it good are the integrity of people who make and serve them. Take for example the founder himself, John Schnatter. Little do many people know that in 1984, John sold his 1972 Chevy GTO Charger just to save his dad's ailing restaurant. He used the money to convert an old mop room as a brick oven to make the first Papa John’s pizzas that many people came to love. Now, wasn't that a noble gesture from a son?

After conquering pizza lovers in the US, Papa John’s is now also capturing the Pinoy’s taste for pizza with its 13 stores in Metro Manila. Last week, a small band of food reviewers were invited to get a taste of Papa John’s bestsellers. We started out with Pasta selections such as Carbonara, Sausage Mushroom Rosa and Meatball Bolognaise. Among the three, the Carbonara is my favorite. 

And then of course, we got to taste the Pizza. We started with Papa John’s best seller, the Super Papa: a pizza with everything on it. We also tried the Pepperoni Pizza which is much popular among families dining together. One unique best thing when eating Papa John’s Pizza, is the crust on the edge. In addition, the restaurant has come up with a savory garlic butter dip that lets you finish the crust and everything on your plate. 

This coming Valentines season, as many people celebrate the hearts month in many restaurants for their memorable dates, Papa John’s have come up with a special something suited for young lovers -- the Half&Half Pizza. Get to taste two variations of Pizza in one pie!
